Sometimes, when we're down, all we need is a pep talk from the ghost of our mom.
Also, in my world, Star Swirl was a classical unicorn, with cloven hooves and a lion's tail, because awesome.
Now give me a moment to finish page 114, and in the mean time, have some fitting music for pages 112 to 120: youtu.be/c0oGukyl7ac
Additional notes, May 21st, 2014: Looking back on this, Using L. Faust's OC as Celestia and Luna's mom feels, some how, and I'm not sure how to describe, very, very problematic. ¬_¬

The train was choochin along, the princesses were gonna kick some butt, then all the sudden... what?
I mean.... is this necessary? I dont think I have ever read a comic that has both held my eyes to it, then snapped the entrancement away... so abruptly..
Starswirl is... well still pretty meh.
mother was the correct term to use, because that is all faust is
"any woman can be a mother, but it takes some one special to be a mom" - from the side of a novelty coffee mug
so good thing you didn't use mom, mama or any other variation, because it would have been more problematic
